The Wattles Tract stream restoration project has been permitted and work began on Saturday, June 20th. The work in progress can best be viewed from Point Mountain Road in Port Murray, NJ, GPS coordinates 40.767651, -74.911867. Coming from Route 57 on to Point Mountain Road, drive over the green steel, one-way bridge and park along the road. The one mile Wattles Tract which is managed by NJ Audubon is the property on the right side of the river as you stand on the Pt. Mountain Road bridge looking downstream. There is a walking trail on that side (both sides for a bit as the opposite bank is owned by Hunterdon County Parks for nearly 1/3 mile).
