Last week, FUDR hired two local contractors to begin construction work at Sands Creek. The restoration work will help improve habitat and water quality, and strengthen the resiliency of the creek to storm impacts. We anticipate that the project will be completed by the end of September. A special thank you to Mary Ann Nichols who owns the property at the project site for her vision and willingness to enable this project to move forward. We’re also grateful to numerous other project supporters including the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Trout Unlimited, International Federation of Fly Fishers, Theodore Gordon Fly Fishers, The Orvis Company, Patagonia, Keith Campbell Foundation, Town of Hancock and Delaware County.
